The Vizsla Club of America, organized originally in the early 1950's as  the Magyar Vizsla club, received its present name in order to facilitate breed recognition by the AKC. The organization has published a national newsletter since 1953 called The Vizsla News. Presently, the VCA sponsors a week long national event which rotates around the country each year.
